The Grand Canyon State
On October 25, 2013 I moved to Payson, Arizona where I have joined the art world of this beautiful area! I have already located and have been introduced to several wonderful artists of reknown in the area and look forward to exploration of new avenues of art adventure here and around this wonderful area. As I write this, a good omen! The sun finally popped out! It has been raining a beautiful soft rain for nearly two days....but as we know, there is sunshine after every rain and the promise that comes with the rainbow! I am inspired by this area and by God's beauty here.
I have just finished "Grand Canyon Majesty." When I took the photo this summer at the Grand Canyon on vacation, I had no idea that I would be living in this wonderful State so soon or at all! God has appointed a time for everything...It is mine and my husband's time to be here. We plan on finding every good purpose and season meant for us here! Did you now that Payson, Arizona is known for the best air-quality in the United States? Wow!
GRAND CANYON MAJESTY! The awe and wonder of this breathtaking scene as you look upon one of the eight wonders of the world, makes you gasp at the monumental creation of a God so great! To paint such a thing is totally humbling because you can NEVER capture its total majesty. One needs to come back to the real playce and gaze upon it over and over again! #54 Beautifully finished and framed, size 24 X 20. Original Oil. Plus S/H. Contact email: davies@halfmooninn.net
SWEETHEART ROCK: They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer. Psalm 78:35 My friend introduced me to this beautiful and very special place on one of the hiking trails in Payson, Arizona, in part of the Tonto National Forest. I remember we laughed, thinking we should set up a ‘café’ there and serve coffee or something! It was such a delightful spot! I think I t was a special place to bond a friendship! Thank you Lord, for my friend! Gift
ROCK OF MY SALVATION: There was no doubt about what the name of this painting would be when I first saw this magnificent rock formation and decided I would paint it! There are many references to Rocks in the bible both positively and negatively; however, Jesus even told his apostle Peter, that upon his kind of faith, he would build his church! He stated, “Upon this Rock, I will build my church.” King David stated in Psalms 18: 2, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” The sky in this painting was taken from one beautiful evening in Payson, Arizona. Sixe 18 X 24 X 1-1/2, unframed; Oil with brush & palette knife technique, beautifully finished/
TONTO NATURAL BRIDGE - When you first gaze upon this monumental phenomenon you are simply in AWE! When you last look upon it, you are simply in AWE! There are no two ways about it! This particular painting was done from a photograph and memories from an autumn encounter after most of the leaves had fallen off of the deciduous trees. The time of day was early in the morning, around 9 AM. The Park had just opened and the sun was barely rising over the mountaintops; thus the yellow sky and faintness of the background mountain as it too had a yellow cast from the cresting sun. There was such a beautiful glow cast over the bridge itself. I don’t believe you will ever go to this bridge and see it the same way twice. It is a MUST-SEE on anyone’s list! "He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them water as abundant as the seas." (Psalm 78:15 # 53 Size 18 X 24 X 1-1/2. unframed. Beautifully finished/Arizona Landmark.
Living Waters – Under Tonto Natural Bridge: (John 7:37,38) Jesus said, “If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scriptures said, from his innermost being shall flow rivers of Living Waters.” Many thousands have made the trek down underneath the beautiful Tonto Natural Bridge near Payson, Arizona painted above. This amazing place can only be described as, “One of the most beautiful of God’s creations,” by all who visit there! #83 Pastel Chalk Painting, size 23 X 19, Framed double matted under glass; Price $200 plus S/H. AUCTIONED FOR TASTE OF THE RIM 2017.
Wilderness Tree: 1 Kings 19: 4-7...and so Elijah went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. 5 And as he lay and slept under the tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, “Arise and eat.” 6 And he looked, and behold, there was a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. 7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.” The tree in that wilderness was a ’juniper tree’ according to the King James Version of the Bible. I sometimes wonder if it had been near Arizona, if it would not have been a ‘mesquite tree’ here! God’s angel took such good care of Elijah when he was downtrodden and weary. I think he would do the same thing now under similar circumstances. Trust and faith! SOLD,
SOARING ON WINGS: Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40: 28-31) #45/3 Medium: Oil, Size 16 X 40 X 1-1/2, Unframed. Canvas, wigs on nest and vine. Price $300. SOLD
HOUSTON MESA: You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12. This photo was taken on Houston Mesa Road on the outer edges of Payson, Arizona. When I saw it, I truly did want to clap my hands and shout for joy! I was so amazed at its beauty and peace! This is just one small fragment of the beauty in the surrounding area. God must have truly loved the land here! I know he loves the people! #57/7 Size 16 X 24 X 1-1/2, unframed. Beautiful Arizona Scene near Payson Arizona. Currently hanging in the Payson Chamber of Commerce.
