You are my hiding place. You will protect me from trouble. I will instruct you in the way you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you.
Psalms 32: 7-8
"CHERISHED AFTERGLOW," an illustration for Ric Davies' upcoming novel, THE GIFT. Watch for this book! It is God-inspired and has a message for ALL to hear.
"CHOSEN" ~ This painting is not for sale. It was painted as a illustration for my husband's upcoming book which is entitled, "THE GIFT." I hope you love the painting - I know you will truly enjoy the book. Watch for it by author, Ric Davies. "When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? (Psalms 56:14) "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." (Prov. 3;5-6)
THE RED VASE - This was a class project of a beautiful still life painting by artist Robert Warren, painted by me recently this past Spring 2014. The beauty of the Red Vase seems to enchant all of its viewers! It certainly did me! this painting was raffled off in a free drawing at the Art for Heaven's Sake Show to a very LUCKY and HAPPY lady!
BUTTERFLIES AND FLOWERS ~ The butterflies in this painting were painted from a photo taken at the Butterfly Reserve in Pismo Beach, CA. What an interesting sight to see! You will never see two photos alike! Every time you go you will see something different depending on the date, the weather and the year! We had mostly very yellow colored monarchs that were a little reticent to be seen because of the cold weather that day. The flowers in the painting were not from the reserve but were actually "blown" into the painting! What a fun little technique that was and turned out "beautifully!" ENJOY!!
STEAMIN' DOWN EAGLE RIVER ~ This painting is already SOLD! It was done from a photo taken after riding the actual 'steamboat' seen here which belongs to a couple who live near Eagle River, Wisconsin. The area is more beautiful than you can possibly depict! This small inlet shoots out into a large lake that goes on for miles and miles. What a wonderful time we had at this "Steamboat meet!" Psalms 98:8-9 says: "Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the Lord!" WE CERTAINLY DID SING FOR JOY!! SOLD
EYE ON THE SPARROW ~ "Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young - a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God." (Psalms 84:3) - This is an early painting of mine. Lovely and very charming. It always makes the viewer smile each time they walk by. It is already SOLD. When I was younger, we used to sing a song that had words like this, "For his eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me!" I've never forgotten it! SOLD
WISHING ON A MOON! - This was an early original painted by me in 2011. Can’t you just picture yourself sitting on the moon wishing? What would you be wishing for? Enchanting idea isn’t it? SOLD
FLORAL BOUQUET: A bright floral bouquet on black background lends itself beautifully to several beautiful framing techniques depending on the desired décor outcome. This lovely arrangement would be the desire of many accomplished designers, and is sure to catch the admiring glances of all who see it. Oil on black masonite board. NOW UNAVAILABLE. Donated to Mountain Bible Church for Youth Camp auction.
SWEET 'LIL MAMA: This sweet ‘Lil hummingbird was found by my friend Mary in her front yard and shared with me. I was so astounded to see this precious little Mama so sweetly sitting patiently on her tiny little nest with the ‘tiny’ little eggs! She didn’t even flinch when we took photos of her! Her nest blended in so well with her surroundings that if you didn’t look twice, you could barely see it. Did you know that the typical next is not more than the size of a half of an English walnut shell? The larger outer part is covered with moss and plant fibers. Each of the usual two tiny eggs are not more than ½ inch each. I am hopeful that my friend will enjoy this little painting and remember how much we all enjoyed her ‘lil Mama! GIFT
""LIL MAMA AND HER BABY": And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created …every living thing ,,,according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number…and let the birds increase on the earth.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day. Genesis 1:20-25 (NIV) You will never know just how precious this painting is to me. 'Lil Mama and one of her babies shown peeping out of the nesting box was a real joy in our backyard! Not only was there one baby, but five in this group of fledglings! Mama and Papa raised two groups of babies totaling nine altogether this spring and summer. We felt like the grandparents! By the way, our grandson built the nest box when he was in Junior High.
In Memory of Mama: 9-2015/Mama, of course, always loved flowers. Daddy always gave her roses for special occasions. You will note that inside of the bottle are rose petals. I gathered these up while going through Mama’s things. She of course, had dried them and saved them. I put them in this very special bottle. It is the very same bottle that was Mama & Daddy’s first purchase on their wedding day, a bottle of “Purina cough syrup.” Daddy had a cold, and they went to a drug store right after the ceremony at the preacher’s house while waiting for the car to finish getting it’s repair done! (You’ll have to read the genealogy story!) Also, while there, they had their wedding photo taken in a photo booth! The only one they had! I also painted it! It’s a great story and a LOVE that lasted their whole lives! Mama used the bottle afterwards as a rolling pin for years and years. She later gave it to me, which of course I now use to hold the precious rose petals shown in the painting. The little birds belonged to Mama. She loved these little precious birds and owned many things such as these. This was just one. This painting just reminds me of the precious and fabulous woman she was and not only how much she loved us, and God, but how much I love her! Thank you Jesus for lending her to us for a little while (94 years as a matter of fact!) NFS
